Hot-fix tape, also known as transfer tape, is used in rhinestone applications to help transfer rhinestones from a design template to fabric or another surface. The tape has an adhesive side that temporarily holds the rhinestones in place, allowing for precise positioning of the design. Once the rhinestones are aligned, the design is pressed onto the fabric with a heat press or iron, activating the adhesive on the back of the rhinestones (the "hot-fix" glue) to bond them permanently to the material. The tape ensures the rhinestones stay in the correct pattern during the transfer process.

HOW IT WORKS:

1)     Design Placement: Rhinestones are arranged on a template in the desired pattern.

2)     Tape Application: A Hot Fix Tape Roll is pressed over the design, picking up the stones while keeping their alignment.

3)     Transfer: The tape with the design is placed adhesive-side down on the target fabric or item.

4)     Heat Pressing: A heat press or household iron is used to apply heat and pressure. he adhesive on the back of each rhinestone melts and bonds to the fabric.

5)     Tape Removal: After cooling, the tape is peeled off, leaving the rhinestones securely attached.

TYPES:

1)      Clear Heat-Resistant Tape: Most common, allows for accurate design placement.

2)      Reusable vs. Disposable: Some tapes can be reused a few times, while others are single-use.

TIPS FOR USE:

1)   Ensure rhinestones are correct-side-up before applying the tape.

2)   Use a Teflon sheet or parchment paper between the heat source and tape to avoid scorching.

3)   Allow to cool completely before removing the tape to ensure stones are set.
